I was born and raised on the Marsden Housing Estate within the present Harton Ward. I attended all local schools, Harton Infants, Harton Junior Boys and Redwell. Later on I attended South Tyneside College and then Sunderland Polytechnic. I gained my Honours degree at Sunderland Polytechnic. I am a retired Civil Servant with over 30 years service. In my personal life I am married with a daughter. Currently I serve as vice-chair of the Boroughs Planning Committee.
Due to the schools summer break commencing 19th July, there will be no ward surgeries for Labour Cllrs in Harton Ward and Horsley Hill Ward from Saturday 20th July resuming on Saturday 7th September at Marsden Road Community Centre ,10.00am-11.00am.
